Remittance Quote Cost & FX Spread Method, Formula & Examples
On this page
This method guide explains the calculation sequence behind the Remittance Quote Cost & FX Spread Calculator. It owns formulas, input definitions, timing, rounding and reference checks; the calculator remains the only page that performs the numeric scenario.
Calculation sequence
Recipient amount equals converted amount minus recipient fee. FX spread compares provider rate with entered reference rate; total sender outlay includes the sender fee.
Inputs and evidence
Use current written documents for every material input. The calculator supports: Amount converted, Sender fee, Provider exchange rate, Reference exchange rate, Recipient-side fee in recipient currency, Market and currency.
Reference example
Converting 1,000 at 0.92 with a 5 recipient fee delivers 915. Against a 0.95 reference rate, the recipient shortfall is 35 before considering delivery speed or service.
Boundary and error checks
Test zero-rate branches where available, minimum and maximum supported inputs, and a scenario in which the main result reverses. Reject blank, non-finite or out-of-range values rather than silently substituting them.
Model boundary
No live rates or provider rankings are supplied. Reference rates can move, and taxes, correspondent-bank deductions, card charges, cancellation and delivery risk are outside the model.
