Business Loan Early Repayment and Settlement Quotes

On this page

Early settlement cost is the cash already paid plus a dated provider quote—not an assumed remaining principal or automatic discount. Amortizing interest and fixed factor payback behave differently.

Amortizing loan settlement

A reducing-balance loan has outstanding principal after the last modeled payment. A real payoff can add daily interest, discharge, administration, break, or prepayment charges and can reflect rebates or waived fees. Ask for the valid-through date and payment instructions.

Fixed-payback settlement

The remaining contractual factor obligation is not necessarily a principal balance and may not decline through unearned-interest logic. The contract may offer a discount, impose a fee, or require most of the remaining payback. Do not invent one of these outcomes.

Obtain both quotes for the same horizon

Request a written settlement amount from each provider for the same date or decision horizon. Confirm whether scheduled debits continue, whether the quote includes all charges, how pending reconciliation works, and when liens or guarantees are released.

Calculate total cash through settlement

Add upfront cash fees, every payment made before the horizon, mandatory per-payment fees, and the settlement quote. Subtract the original cash target to show cost above usable funds. Compare this with full-schedule cost.

Expect the winner to change sometimes

A low-rate loan with a large upfront fee may need time to outperform; a factor product may or may not offer an early discount. The full-term winner and settlement-horizon winner can therefore differ. Preserve both results.

Frequently asked questions

Does paying an MCA early always reduce cost?

No. Any discount or fee depends on the contract and provider quote.

Is scheduled remaining obligation the payoff quote?

No. It is a model value for orientation; the dated quote controls the settlement scenario.

Does CalculatorGeek recommend a lender or funder?

No. The calculator and guides compare terms entered by the user. They do not rank providers, display live offers, collect applications, predict approval, or sell a lead.

Do the USD, GBP, CAD, and AUD modes apply local law?

No. They change currency formatting and context only. They do not insert disclosure rules, tax treatment, products, market rates, or eligibility criteria.
