No hidden resource guess

R1 and R2 remain visible inputs instead of being inferred by an undocumented table.

Both ICC branches

The calculator handles both reduced and increased Team 2 resources.

Honest scope

The result is labeled Standard Edition arithmetic, not an official Professional Edition decision.

Interpretation

Resource percentages account for available overs and wickets in the applicable DLS source.

The arithmetic is reproducible from the values shown in the result.

Officials must use the competition-approved DLS system and playing conditions.

Review method

Both ICC-published branches, flooring, target increment, equal-resource behavior, fractional resources, optional score comparison, and invalid R1 were recomputed independently and tested in JavaScript and PHP fixtures.

Known limitations

  • The calculator does not derive R1 or R2 from overs and wickets.
  • Professional Edition values and official match decisions require competition-approved software.
  • G50 can vary by the applicable competition or Standard Edition guidance.
  • A score-versus-par comparison is not a complete match result without innings status, minimum-over rules, and playing conditions.

Direct answer

This calculator converts official or Standard Edition DLS resource percentages into a par score and target. It does not invent resource percentages from overs and wickets or claim to reproduce the proprietary Professional Edition.

Enter Team 1 score, Team 1 resources (R1), Team 2 resources (R2), and the competition G50 value. The tool applies the ICC-published Standard Edition branch, floors the par score to a whole run, and adds one run for the target.

How to use the calculator

  1. Obtain R1 and R2 from the competition-approved source.
  2. Enter Team 1 score and the competition G50 value.
  3. Choose whether to compare Team 2 score with par.
  4. Review the displayed branch, par score, target, and limitations.

Inputs, outputs, and result meaning

Inputs

  • Team 1 score: Use Team 1 actual score at the end of its innings or the score required by the competition scenario.
  • Team 1 resources (R1): Copy R1 from the applicable official scoring software or published Standard Edition table.
  • Team 2 resources (R2): Copy R2 from the same DLS source and match context as R1.
  • G50 average score: Used only when Team 2 has more resources than Team 1. Use the value set for the competition.
  • Compare Team 2 score: Choose Yes to see how a Team 2 score compares with the calculated par score.
  • Team 2 score: This comparison is not a match declaration unless the innings status and playing conditions are known.

Outputs

  • Target to win: the primary answer for the selected calculation.
  • Par score: a supporting value used to interpret or cross-check the result.
  • Team 2 resource difference: a supporting value used to interpret or cross-check the result.
  • Team 2 position versus par: a supporting value used to interpret or cross-check the result.

Formula and methodology

Fewer or equal Team 2 resources: par = floor(Team 1 score x R2 / R1).

More Team 2 resources: par = floor(Team 1 score + G50 x (R2 - R1) / 100).

Target to win: target = par + 1. Flooring occurs only after the full-precision branch is calculated.

The Professional Edition uses current competition software and resource modelling that this public calculator does not reproduce. This separation is deliberate.

Worked examples

Reduced resources

Team 1 scores 250. R1 is 100% and R2 is 75%. Par = floor(250 x 75 / 100) = 187. The target is 188.

Extra resources

Team 1 scores 250, R1 is 80%, R2 is 90%, and G50 is 245. Par = floor(250 + 245 x 10 / 100) = floor(274.5) = 274. The target is 275.

Interpretation and limitations

  • The calculator does not derive R1 or R2 from overs and wickets.
  • Professional Edition values and official match decisions require competition-approved software.
  • G50 can vary by the applicable competition or Standard Edition guidance.
  • A score-versus-par comparison is not a complete match result without innings status, minimum-over rules, and playing conditions.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official ICC DLS calculator?

No. It applies ICC-published Standard Edition target arithmetic to resource percentages you supply. Official matches use approved systems and playing conditions.

Why do I enter R1 and R2?

The current professional resource model is not reproduced here. Requiring the percentages keeps the arithmetic transparent and prevents a false claim of official precision.

What is the difference between par and target?

Par is the tied-score reference after flooring. The target to win is one run above par.

When is G50 used?

G50 is used only when Team 2 has more resources than Team 1.

Does the calculator decide the match result?

No. It can compare a score with par, but official results depend on innings completion and the applicable playing conditions.

Sources and transparency

Sources establish the governing definition, measurement context, or documented estimate. CalculatorGeek independently recomputed the public fixtures on 2026-09-26. An estimate remains an estimate even when the arithmetic is exact.
