What this calculator answers
Travel coverage should be tested against the losses that matter: non-refundable trip cost, emergency medical, evacuation and baggage. One premium percentage cannot measure that protection.
Audit a written travel policy against one entered loss scenario without using a percentage-of-trip premium formula.
Method and calculation order
Each loss is capped at its entered coverage limit. The calculator sums those category amounts, then subtracts the entered deductible and other recoveries before comparing payment with total entered loss.
Worked reference example
If baggage loss is 1,000 but its limit is 500, 500 is exposed before deductible. Across 16,000 total entered loss, the sample limits, 250 deductible and 500 other recovery produce a 14,750 modeled payout.
How to use the result
Verify covered reasons, pre-existing-condition provisions, destination, trip length, medical network, evacuation approval, card coverage, supplier refunds and item sublimits.
What the calculator cannot know
The tool does not determine whether an event is covered, estimate premium, interpret policy law, convert currencies, approve evacuation, value baggage or coordinate benefits.
Frequently asked questions
Why subtract other reimbursements?
Travel policies often coordinate with supplier, airline or card refunds; use the actual policy order.
Does the result prove a claim will be paid?
No. Eligibility, notice, documentation and exclusions control.
