What this calculator covers

Estimate federal salary income tax from a monthly or annual taxable salary, with a separate annual field for taxable bonuses and allowances. The fiscal-year selector applies the enacted TY2027 or TY2026 salary schedule.

This workflow is for an individual whose salary income exceeds 75% of taxable income. For a mixed-income case that does not meet that test, use the Pakistan Business Tax Calculator 2026-27 and confirm the applicable schedule.

How the result is calculated

Monthly salary is multiplied by 12, annual taxable bonus and allowances are added, and the selected progressive schedule is applied. Entered eligible credits are deducted without allowing tax below zero.

TY2027 worked check: PKR 2,200,000 produces PKR 116,000 before credits. TY2027 has no section 4AB salary surcharge. TY2026 retains the 9% surcharge on computed salary tax where taxable income exceeds PKR 10 million.

The separate Pakistan Super Tax Calculator 2026-27 covers section 4C; it is not silently added here.

How to use the result

Use annual tax for year-level planning. Monthly tax and take-home are annual averages, not a payroll slip: an employer may adjust deductions for bonus timing, prior deductions, perquisites, exemptions or changes during the year.

Important boundaries

Mixed-income cases where salary does not exceed 75% of taxable income need the applicable non-salary treatment.

The calculator deliberately does not infer exemptions, undocumented facts, provincial liabilities, credits, minimum-tax interactions or professional conclusions that its inputs cannot establish.

Frequently asked questions

Can I enter my monthly salary?

Yes. Choose Monthly salary and enter the taxable monthly amount. The calculator annualizes it, adds any separately entered taxable bonus and allowances, and applies the selected fiscal-year schedule.

Why can monthly payroll tax differ from this average?

Employers can adjust section 149 deductions during the year for bonuses, prior deductions, perquisites, exemptions and salary changes. The monthly result here is annual tax divided by 12.

Does the calculator support both FY 2026-27 and FY 2025-26?

Yes. It uses the enacted schedule selected in the Fiscal year field, including the TY2026 salary surcharge test and its removal for TY2027.

What are the main limitations?

The salary schedule applies only where salary exceeds 75% of taxable income. The take-home estimate subtracts modeled income tax only and does not include provident fund, pension, benefits, loan deductions or other payroll items.
