Recorded method

Current IRCC factor tables were encoded independently, caps and spouse paths were tested, job-offer points were fixed at zero, and boundary fixtures were compared across JavaScript and PHP.

These records describe the published model and reference tests. A test-case count is not a certification of every possible input or an independent specialist review. Editorial policy

Known limitations

  • An estimated CRS total is not an eligibility decision or invitation prediction.
  • Official test validity, credential recognition, work eligibility, spouse status, and additional-point conditions must be established outside the calculator.
  • IRCC can change the criteria; the displayed source-review date defines this version.

What the CRS Calculator calculates

This CRS Calculator estimates the current 1,200-point Express Entry ranking score from core or human-capital factors, eligible spouse factors, skill transferability, and additional points. It shows each subtotal and keeps job-offer CRS points at zero under the change effective March 25, 2025.

A CRS score ranks an eligible profile in the pool. It does not decide whether the person qualifies for an Express Entry program and it cannot predict a future invitation threshold.

How to use this calculator

  1. Choose the legal relationship and accompanying-spouse path used in the official profile.
  2. Enter age, education, Canadian work, and each first- and second-language CLB or NCLC ability.
  3. Add eligible transferability and additional factors only when their official conditions are met.
  4. Calculate, then compare every subtotal with the official profile or IRCC calculator.

Method and formula

The method follows the four IRCC CRS sections. Core and spouse points use different caps depending on whether an eligible spouse accompanies the applicant. Skill transferability combines education, foreign work, Canadian work, language, and an eligible trade certificate, with category and overall caps. Additional points cover an accepted provincial nomination, eligible Canadian study, a qualifying sibling, and French ability.

The result deliberately awards zero job-offer CRS points. It does not silently add points for a job offer, draw prediction, or unverified credential.

Worked example

A single 29-year-old applicant with a bachelor-level credential, CLB 9 in all four first-language abilities, one year of Canadian work, three or more years of foreign work, and no additional factors receives 394 core points. The two education combinations contribute 38 transferability points and the two foreign-work combinations reach their 50-point category cap, for 88 skill-transferability points and an estimated total of 482. Selecting an accepted provincial nomination adds 600 separately.

How to interpret the result

Read the four subtotals before the total. A mismatch is usually traceable to the spouse path, per-ability language levels, an education category, completed work years, or whether an additional factor satisfies every IRCC condition. A higher score generally ranks above a lower one, but invitation rounds and program eligibility are separate questions.

Assumptions and limitations

The calculator cannot validate documents, Educational Credential Assessments, National Occupational Classification duties, qualifying work, test expiry, nomination acceptance, sibling eligibility, or Canadian-study conditions. IRCC owns the decision and may amend the system. Recheck the linked criteria whenever the profile changes.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official IRCC CRS calculator?

No. It is an independent audit tool that implements the cited criteria and exposes the breakdown. Compare the result with IRCC before acting.

Do job offers add CRS points?

No under the current CRS rules. IRCC removed job-offer CRS points on March 25, 2025, although an offer can still matter for some program requirements.

Should I average my language results?

No. Each listening, reading, writing, and speaking level scores separately.

Does this predict the next draw cutoff?

No. Draw type, timing, invitations, and cutoffs are not predicted.

Why can a spouse change my score?

An eligible accompanying spouse changes the applicant caps and adds separate spouse education, language, and Canadian-work factors.
