What is recorded

Sauna type, air temperature, humidity, duration and selected symptoms for one session.

Method

Preserve the entered measurements and count marked symptoms separately.

Important boundary

Evidence does not establish one safe or optimal protocol across sauna types and health conditions.

Result actions
1
Record the environmentEnter the displayed temperature and humidity.Room measurements
2
Record elapsed timeUse actual time in the heated space. No recommended target
3
Check symptomsMark symptoms and keep the safety message with the record.Stop for warning signs

Interpretation

minutes is the recorded exposure, not a target.

Temperature and humidity describe the room, not internal body temperature or risk.

Symptoms, medicines and health conditions can change the safety decision.

Recorded method

Verify unit normalization, symptom count, conditional warning, and absence of a recommended protocol.

These records describe the published model and reference tests. A test-case count is not a certification of every possible input or an independent specialist review. Editorial policy

Known limitations

  • There is no universal safe or optimal sauna protocol across people, conditions and sauna types.
  • The tool does not measure core temperature, hydration status, blood pressure or cardiovascular strain.
  • The symptom checklist is not exhaustive and cannot clear a person for heat exposure.

What the Sauna Session Logger records

Record sauna conditions, elapsed time and heat-related symptoms without prescribing a universal temperature, duration or frequency.

It creates a dated record of sauna type, air temperature, humidity, elapsed time and selected symptoms. It deliberately does not convert those values into a health score or recommend a protocol.

How to use the Sauna Session Logger and Heat-Safety Checklist

  1. Choose the type of heated environment and session date.
  2. Enter displayed air temperature, humidity and actual elapsed time.
  3. Mark any symptoms during or after the session.
  4. Print or save the summary for your own record or a qualified professional.

Exposure record and safety checklist

The logger preserves temperature in degrees Celsius after unit normalization, relative humidity as entered, and elapsed minutes. No heat-index or therapeutic-dose formula is applied because common outdoor heat indices are not validated as a universal sauna-risk calculation at these conditions.

Worked example and boundary check

Worked example

A dry-sauna entry of 80 C, 20% relative humidity and 12 minutes is reported as those exact conditions. The result does not say that 12 minutes is safe or optimal for another person or another sauna.

Boundary check

Room temperature and humidity do not measure core temperature, dehydration or cardiovascular strain. Health conditions, medicines, alcohol, pregnancy, age and acclimatization can materially change risk.

How to use the record responsibly

Use the logger to preserve actual exposure and symptoms. Stop heat exposure for concerning symptoms and use current emergency guidance for confusion, loss of consciousness or severe illness.

  • There is no universal safe or optimal sauna protocol across people, conditions and sauna types.
  • The tool does not measure core temperature, hydration status, blood pressure or cardiovascular strain.
  • The symptom checklist is not exhaustive and cannot clear a person for heat exposure.

Frequently asked questions

Does the maximum input mean 120 minutes is safe?

No. It is a recording boundary, not a recommendation.

Does the tool calculate heat index?

No. Standard heat-index formulas are not a validated universal sauna-dose model.

Can I use an infrared sauna entry like a dry-sauna entry?

You can record both, but their heat environments are not assumed equivalent.

What if I feel confused or faint?

Leave the heat and follow emergency guidance; confusion or loss of consciousness can be a medical emergency.
