Score MDL, HRP, SDC, plank, and the two-mile run from the official tables effective June 1, 2025.
The calculator uses all 6,614 populated primary scoring cells without interpolation and preserves the official higher- or lower-is-better direction.
Walk, bike, swim, and row use the 80 official age-and-column GO/NO-GO cutoffs; they never receive invented points.

The CalculatorGeek team reviewed the official AFT scoring sources, all populated table cells, General and Combat routing, alternate-event cutoffs, units, boundary behavior, and the published regression fixtures.

2026-09-11 - Rebuilt from the evidence-led AFT package with a checksum-pinned official source dataset, six new support pages, current General and Combat rules, and profile-authorized alternate-event GO/NO-GO handling.
These published examples are separate from the configured definition fixtures and any additional automated assertions. Expected values use the stated output units; invalid inputs are intended to be rejected.

|---|---|---|
| General exact minimum | Age 17-21 M; 150 lb, 15 reps, 2:28, 1:30, 19:57 | 60 each; 300 total; meets General |
| Combat total rule | Five 60-point performances | 300 total; does not meet 350-point Combat total |
| Alternate cutoff boundary | 17-21 M/C walk at 31:00 and 31:01 | 31:00 GO; 31:01 NO-GO; no invented points |

Use this AFT Calculator to convert five Army Fitness Test results—3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift, Hand-Release Push-Up, Sprint-Drag-Carry, Plank, and Two-Mile Run or an authorized alternate aerobic event—into event points and a total out of 500. The General standard uses age- and sex-normed scoring and requires at least 60 points in every event plus 300 total. The Combat standard uses the age-normed, sex-neutral M/C column and requires at least 60 points in every event plus 350 total.
Current-policy alert: The AFT has five scored events. The Standing Power Throw is not an AFT event.

The Army Fitness Test replaced the Army Combat Fitness Test as the test of record on June 1, 2025. The Standing Power Throw was removed, reducing the scored total from six events and 600 points to five events and 500 points. The other five event names remain familiar, but users must select the current General or Combat scoring path rather than a legacy ACFT physical-demand category.

2:10 means two minutes ten seconds. 2.10 is a decimal number and must not be silently treated as the same duration. Reject seconds outside 00–59, normalize leading zeros for display, and store timed inputs as total seconds.
| Output | What it means | Decision rule |
|---|---|---|
| Event points | Official table value for one performance | Never interpolate between printed thresholds |
| Event status | Whether that event reaches 60 points | One event below 60 means the test does not pass |
| Total score | Sum of five event scores | Maximum 500 |
| General result | General pass/fail interpretation | Every event at least 60 and total at least 300 |
| Combat result | Combat pass/fail interpretation | Every event at least 60 and total at least 350 |
| Weakest event | Lowest point value | Planning aid, not an official Army designation |
| Next threshold | Nearest better table row | Show the exact raw-performance target and table source |
After checking the pass rules and event floor, use What Is a Good AFT Score? to interpret passing, stronger, and balanced results without inventing an Army performance category.
| Standard | Scoring basis | Minimum per event | Minimum total | Maximum total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| General | Age- and sex-normed | 60 | 300 | 500 |
| Combat | Age-normed and sex-neutral M/C column | 60 | 350 | 500 |
Combat does not mean 70 points are required in every event. A total of 350 is equivalent to a 70-point average, but the event floor remains 60. A Soldier could therefore meet the combat total with an uneven event profile if no event falls below 60.

| Order | Event | Calculator input | Higher score comes from |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 3-Repetition Maximum Deadlift (MDL) | Valid weight in pounds | Heavier valid weight |
| 2 | Hand-Release Push-Up—Arm Extension (HRP) | Counted repetitions in two minutes | More valid repetitions |
| 3 | Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC) | Minutes and seconds | Faster completion time |
| 4 | Plank (PLK) | Minutes and seconds | Longer valid hold |
| 5 | Two-Mile Run (2MR) | Minutes and seconds | Faster completion time |
The calculator cannot judge movement quality, lane setup, equipment, course measurement, or whether a repetition was valid. Enter only results accepted by an authorized grader when comparing against an official record. See AFT Events Explained for execution context.
The AFT is table-scored, not calculated from one continuous algebraic equation.
Total AFT points = MDL points + HRP points + SDC points + PLK points + aerobic-event points
Each event points value is retrieved from the official table for the selected standard, age group, sex where applicable, event, and raw result. If a raw result falls between printed thresholds, the code must apply the direction and boundary rule in the official source; it must not create a fractional or interpolated point value.

Suppose the five official lookups return 62 + 71 + 66 + 64 + 60 = 323. Every event is at least 60 and the total is above 300, so the entered performance passes the General score check. This example demonstrates result interpretation only; it does not map invented raw inputs to points.
Suppose the event points are 78 + 74 + 72 + 58 + 75 = 357. The total exceeds both 300 and 350, but the 58-point event is below the universal 60-point floor. The result is not a pass under either path.
Suppose the points are 68 + 72 + 69 + 67 + 70 = 346. Every event reaches 60, so the General standard is met. The Combat standard is not met because the total is below 350.
Suppose the points are 76 + 74 + 69 + 67 + 68 = 354. Every event is at least 60 and the total is at least 350. The example shows why “70 in every event” is an incorrect combat rule.
The current official materials list four profile-directed alternatives to the Two-Mile Run: the 2.5-mile walk, 12-kilometer stationary bike, 1-kilometer swim, and 5-kilometer row. They are not casual user preferences. The applicable permanent profile and current Army guidance determine whether an alternate event is authorized.
Alternate events are displayed as GO/NO-GO thresholds in the official score materials. A calculator must not award an invented 61–100 point scale where the source supplies only a passing cutoff. Read AFT Alternate Events before interpreting a profile-based result.
Army Directive 2026-07 introduced a separate Combat Field Test for specified combat specialties and expanded the combat-specialty list to 24 by adding 12D, 89D, and 89E. The CFT is not an AFT event and is not scored by this calculator. Link users who ask about that change to AFT Changes in 2026.
Army body composition is also a separate decision. Current Army public guidance says a high AFT score does not exempt a Soldier from the waist-to-height-ratio standard. Do not repeat the former 465-point body-composition exemption as current policy. Use the Army Body Fat Calculator for an educational WHtR check and verify official requirements separately.

The General standard requires at least 60 points in each of five events and at least 300 total. The Combat standard requires the same 60-point event floor and at least 350 total.
The current AFT is scored out of 500 because it has five events worth up to 100 points each. The earlier ACFT used six events and a 600-point maximum.
No. The Standing Power Throw was removed when the AFT became the test of record on June 1, 2025.
No. Current Army materials state a 60-point minimum in each event and a 350-point total. Seventy is the average needed to total 350, not the event minimum.
No under the current Army body-composition policy described in 2026 public guidance. Verify any administrative question through current Army channels.
No. It can apply the standard you select, but official Army policy determines which standard applies to a Soldier.
They are profile-directed alternatives, not preference-based substitutions. Use only the event authorized by the applicable profile and official guidance.
