Pay and Work-Time Calculators

On this page

Calculate simple hourly pay, overtime, double time, salary and payroll decimal time with the threshold and multiplier visible.

Start with shifts, then calculate pay

Have dated starts, ends and breaks rather than an hours total? Use the Weekly Time Card and Break Calculator first. It totals non-overlapping shifts by the chosen workweek and keeps paid versus unpaid breaks visible. For a known hours total, use the existing overtime or salary tools below. For clock rollover and daylight-saving examples, read overnight shifts and breaks. Pay outputs are simplified estimates, not an official payroll determination.

Choose a pay or time tool

Federal-law boundary

For covered nonexempt employees, the general FLSA rule is at least 1.5 times the regular rate for hours over 40 in a fixed workweek. State law, contracts, classification and includable compensation can change the calculation.

Clock time is not decimal time

8:30 is 8.5 hours, not 8.30. Convert minutes by dividing by 60 before multiplying by a pay rate.
